Uniting black minds

As part of our GoodSub initiative, we teamed up with The Blackett Lab Family (BLF), a UK-based collective of black physicists with a singular purpose: to diversify perceptions of physics by inspiring, connecting and representing black youths.

We needed to show that the face of physics could be changed by uniting black minds to see beyond. The BLF quest essentially begins in the minds of local communities. Those in school, their parents and influencers, as well as students that were either clear about their future career or had no real idea of what to do next. Their ambition is to become influential in society so that it leads the conversation in their communities – and beyond. We built the brand upon the insight that ‘Black is bright’. From there we created a simple, yet bold brand. From this, we were able to give the BLF team the assets and tools to start using their new identity, from simple guidelines to Canva templates for social media.

Results & testimonial

Due to restrictions at the time, this was a unique experience in that it was a complete brand transformation done without ever meeting in person. We tested new tech on the BLF team to facilitate our brand co-creation approach remotely, enabling us to collaborate both better and faster.
